The City of Sand City is a well-kept secret. The town was incorporated in 1960 and currently has a very small, Mayberry-like population and lifestyle. If the Police Chief doesn't know your name, you are definitely a newcomer.
The town is located on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula with over one mile of coastal frontage. You can almost skip a rock along the Bay and hit the shores of Monterey. With a very pro-active City Council and Redevelopment Agency, it is quietly transforming itself into a mixed commercial/residential village deserving of its locational advantage.
Future residential areas of the City will emulate architectural and site plan design features made famous by the neo-traditional neighborhood planning of Seaside, Florida.
